Welcome to your space, and thank you for joining us here. My name is Victoria Jane Leith, and I have worked in schools for over 30 years — teaching, leading workshops, sharing training and creative sessions in conferences, and working in eSwatini, China, Thailand, the UK, Czechia, the USA and Japan.

Why did I want to create this app and make it free for educators across the globe? Honestly — I wish I’d had this app as a teacher myself.

Sometimes, things can get too much at school. Micro-aggressions can happen on the daily, even on the hour, and quite often we only have a few minutes until our next class or meeting — so there isn’t that time or space for a scheduled chat with a peer or SLT.

Take a Moment is for you to check in with yourself and to regulate; to take a breath, to calm, to just take those moments to remind yourself of your worth.

Imagine that a colleague says something ten minutes before your students come in. You can go straight to the app, in a safe space, take a minute to breathe or listen to sounds of nature, draw an affirmation card, or choose from a list of situations and then be offered a remedy.

I wanted to share this app to reduce harm, to help, and to be there for you when you need something extra — and no-one is around, or there isn’t time. I have been through many of these situations myself, or have observed other colleagues going through them too.

If you are an educator or work in a school in any capacity, then this is for you.

I will keep updating the app and adding some beautiful melodies and more meditation and relaxations.

You have GOT this. 🌿
